FOI Requests to Martin Ferguson MP, Minister for Resources and Energy, Minister for Tourism

Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act), members of the public can seek access to documents and files held by the Minister or by the office of the Minister. This extends to documents relating to the Minister's work and not to personal or Labor Party documents in the Minister's possession.

Applications must be in writing or sent by email.

The Act requires that a decision is to be made on an FOI request within 30 days unless the time is extended by agreement with the person making the FOI request or where consultation with another individual, organisation or state or territory is required in relation to the documents requested.

There may be charges to be paid where extensive searches are required to locate requested documents and for the decision-making time and copying effort involved.

Disclosure Log

A feature of the Information Publication Scheme is the requirement under section 11C of the Act for a disclosure log. This is a log containing most of the material released under the Act in response to individual requests for information received by the Minister or by the office of the Minister under that Act.

Material is published in the disclosure log whenever material is released under freedom of information as of 1 May 2011.

There may be documents published in the disclosure log that are currently not available in HTML format. If you are unable to read the format provided please contact the FOI contact officer for an alternative accessible format. All reasonable requests for an alternative format of the document will try to be met in a timely manner.

Information attached to, or referred to, in the Minister's disclosure log will generally be removed after 12 months, unless the information has enduring public value.
