Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson AM MP welcomed today's announcement by Oprah's production company Harpo Productions that The Oprah Winfrey Show will now be filming three episodes in Australia, two at the Sydney Opera House and an additional show at an undisclosed Australian Outback location.
Many thousands of people have already registered online for tickets to attend and Harpo today advised that due to overwhelming demand a second show would be taped at the Sydney Opera House on December 14.
Harpo also provided details of the reservation window for ticket release and confirmed that only people who are registered on the Oprah website will have the chance to win a ticket to one of the Oprah Shows.
The ticket window will open at 10am on November 5 and close at 3pm November 7.
Harpo also confirmed tickets will be awarded via a random lottery process once the ticket reservation window is closed and those who submit a ticket request within the reservation window will be notified by email.
The Minister for Tourism announced in September that Oprah would be coming to Australia following the success of a bid by Tourism Australia to host the world famous talk show.

How to Obtain Tickets to the Tapings
This is a ticketed event. Ticket requests must be submitted on www.Oprah.com. If your ticket request is randomly selected, you or your guest must be available to pick up your tickets and wristbands at a designated location in Sydney 1-2 days before the taping.
You must be an Oprah.com member in order to submit ticket requests. To sign up, go to https://myown.oprah.com/register.html.
The reservation window online for release of tickets to these tapings will be open in Sydney, Australia from November 5th at 10am until November 7 at 3pm; in the US from November 4th at 6:00pm CT until November 6th at 11pm CT.
You may submit one request for yourself and one guest for both tapings. You can only be chosen for one taping. All ticket request submissions have equal opportunity for selection with the ticket lottery system.
You can submit your ticket request anytime within the ticket window - all requests have the same chance of being selected, regardless of when submitted within the ticket window period.
Within 24 hours after the window has closed you will receive an email notification informing you of your request status, whether you have been selected or not.
If you request has been selected, you will need to confirm your ticket request within 48 hours. Instructions to confirm your tickets will be provided in the notification email.
Once you have confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation with all the details about attending the taping including your seat information. Your actual tickets will also indicate what seat/section you will be assigned.
If your request has not been selected, we will email you notification if more tickets become available.
