Following their arrival in Sydney this morning, the 302 audience members for the Oprah Winfrey Show will now have the opportunity to discover some of Australia’s premier tourism destinations as part of Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure.
Over the next five days, groups of audience members will travel to all States and Territories, experiencing the best Australian tourism has to offer.
Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson AM MP, said these trips will showcase Australia’s unique and diverse holiday opportunities, offering something for every traveller.
“The audience members for the Oprah Winfrey Show are about to embark on world class journeys which have been put together by local travel experts,” Minister Ferguson said.
“They will travel to some of Australia’s most stunning locations in regional and remote Australia including the Barrier Reef, the Daintree, Kangaroo Island, Phillip Island, Uluru, the Blue Mountains, and the Hunter, Margaret River, Yarra and Barossa Valleys for example.
“They will have the opportunity to experience the ancient culture and customs of our First Australians as well as visiting historic sites from our colonial past, such as Port Arthur.
“Australia’s fine food and wine and local fresh produce will feature prominently on all itineraries.
“Activities on offer for the audience members will capture the essence of the show’s visit as an ‘Ultimate Adventure’ and will give the audience a taste of the Australian way of life with everything from surfing lessons on both sides of the continent to nature walks, snorkelling and beachside barbeques.
“Our native flora and fauna will of course play a starring role.
“And our great capital cities will also feature with, for example, tours of Melbourne’s renowned laneways and arcades and visits to some of Sydney and Canberra’s most iconic landmarks.
“Tourism Australia has teamed up with all State and Territory tourism bodies and in partnership with industry to deliver an experience that will be second to none. I wish the audience members safe and enjoyable travels.”
