The second series of the award-winning No Leave No Life reality television show will hit the airwaves tomorrow at 6:30pm on Network Seven.
The first season of the program consistently won its timeslot with over one million Australian viewers a week.
Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson AM MP said the show would encourage more workers to take a holiday here in Australia and explore the wealth of tourism attractions and experiences.
“The first season of the show was a runaway success, and helped Australians to re-kindle their love affair with the great Australian holiday.”
Minister Ferguson said the No Leave No Life television show would play an important role in combating recent trends which have seen more and more Australians holidaying overseas and taking advantage of the current high Australian dollar.
“The television show is an important part of the Australian Government’s broader No Leave No Life campaign, which aims to get more workers to use some of their leave to take a holiday here in Australia.”
“Through No Leave No Life the Australian Government is proactively promoting our attractions with the tourism industry’s largest market, Australians – who contribute 75 per cent of our tourism expenditure each year.
“Since the launch of the campaign in March last year, Australia’s overall leave stockpile has reduced from 123 million to 117 million days.
“The second series is perfectly timed for Australia’s peak holiday season to ensure that the campaign has maximum impact for Australia’s tourism businesses.
“Any leave we can unlock means extra turnover for our $33 billion dollar industry, and more job security for the almost half a million Australians who rely on tourism for their livelihood,” Minister Ferguson said.
The No Leave No Life television show airs on Saturdays at 6:30pm from 4 December 2010 to 15 January 2011.
